Experience bird hunting as it should be. You will be hunting over professionally trained dogs for wild birds in prime habitat. We specialize in finding where the best wild bird hunting is each season by following state reports, local observations, habitat conditions for each area, etc... We provide you with the best opportunities to have as successful hunt as possible. When you hunt with us you can be sure that you will be going “where the birds are” every time. Our hunts take place in Montana (also fly fishing), Minnesota, South Dakota, Arizona and Texas.

We stay at the best available lodging and eat at the best available restaurants. We do all that we can to make your hunt as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

MONTANA
HUNTING
Our Central Montana properties might have the best Hungarian Partridge habitat in the United States. In addition to Huns, we hunt Sharptail Grouse, Ruffed Grouse, Blue Grouse, Sage Grouse and Snipe. Lodging is at the five star Grand Hotel in Big Timber. You will find excellent food, bar and rooms all just minutes away from our hunting leases.

FISHING
We fish the famous Yellowstone country in Montana. Fishing takes place on the Yellowstone, Madison and Missouri Rivers, in Yellowstone National Park and local private spring creeks and ponds. We float the rivers from drift boats and wade fish the smaller waters. Fly fishing instruction is our specialty. Lodging and meals are at the famous Chico Hot Springs or at B&Bs on the Yellowstone River. You will be a short drive an excellent day of fishing. There are also plenty of activities for the non-fisherperson.

MINNESOTA

Come hunt with us in Northern Minnesota and see why Ruffed Grouse is considered the king of game birds! Hunting in the Great Lakes area in October is the best time of year to pursue grouse and woodcock. Autumn colors and perfect weather will make this a hunt you will want to do yearly. Great accommodations make for the perfect atmosphere. Pricing includes lodging, meals, guides and birds.

SOUTH DAKOTA

South Dakota is the place to go if you are really interested in hunting wild Pheasant. Hunts are conducted on private land in near Woonsocket, the heart of Pheasant country. Lodging is located just a few miles from our hunting leases. All meals are served at local restaurants. Pricing includes lodging, meals, guides and birds.

ARIZONA
Hunt Gambles, Scaled and Mearns Quail and doves in southern Arizona in the wintertime. If the rains came at the right time the hunting can be exceptional.

Walking the desert in search of quail with pointing dogs makes for a unique hunting experience. Lodging is in the best local hotels and meals at the finest local eateries. Pricing includes lodging, meals, guides and birds.

Single hunter: $1,950
2-3 hunters: $1,600 per man

TEXAS
We hunt both South and North Texas depending on who got the best hatch of birds. Texas is truly the last best place to find wild Bobwhite Quail. All hunting is done on private land leases. Prices vary from year to year depending on where we hunt. Typically an all inclusive hunt package runs from $750 to $1,000 per day. Call or email to find out where we are hunting and costs.

Mitch Hurt, the owner of Wild Bird Hunting Guide Service is dedicated to finding the best wild bird hunting in the country.

He is a dedicated dog man, using English Pointers, Brittany’s, Labs and Boykin Spaniels. He is in the field almost daily from August 1 through April 30 looking for birds. His job on the hunts is to work dogs for you, get you in position for shots and whatever else you might need to make your hunt successful.

Reservations:
A 50% deposit reserves your hunt. Balance due upon arrival. Payment is by cash or check. All party members are required to sign an acknowledgement of risk form.

Cancellations:
Payments are nonrefundable unless Mitch Hurt cancels the hunt. Clients are responsible for purchasing their own trip cancellation insurance.
